Innovation market
Nutrition and Health Diagnosis organized a one-day conference on 22 May 2018 as part of the Utrecht trade fair to look at ‘Joint innovation for a more vital Netherlands’ . The conference centred around the role of nutrition in the health promotion and the prevention of chronic disease.
The programme included both plenary and interactive elements and MiFood also participated in an ‘innovation market’ that continued throughout the day.
The market was an opportunity to showcase a limited number of innovations to participants at the conference
and MiFood used the market to demonstrate the way in which it develops the concept of personalized nutrition<em/>. There was considerable interest from businesses attending the trade fair.

Programmes, speakers, and breakout sessions
The plenary programme featured some prominent speakers, including:
- Paul Blokhuis (Secretary of state for health, welfare and sport - on the need for prevention of illness);
- Princess Laurentien (founder of the Missing Chapter Foundation);
- Prof. Hanno Pijl (doctor - the role of nutrition in prevention of illness);
- Victor Everhardt (Utrecht executive committee chairman - nutrition and variations in health in society);
- Roelof Konterman (director of Achmea - the importance of vitality on the shop floor). The programme also focussed on the topic of ‘innovation’.
- Wiebe Draijer (chairman of the Rabobank Group management board - the need for innovation);
- Hein Schumacher (CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina N.V.).
