To make it evidence based MiFood started together with the university of Maastricht ( prof. T.M.C.M. de Kok and dr. S.G.J. van Breda) in 2019 a three year Human Food Intervention Study.
In this study we investigated the increase in resistance to the lifestyle diseases diabetes type 2, cardiovascular diseases and some non- genetic forms of cancer.
In September 2022 we completed the study. The results where much better than expected in terms of the resistance level and the speed at which it occurred.
How do we consume 500 grams?
MiFood’s goal in 2019 was to turn fruit and vegetables into innovative mixtures in which as much of the healthy goodness – like vitamins, minerals, protein, fibres, and antioxidants – as possible is retained. All of this is carried out in Nutritional Concepts Lab in Venlo.
The machinery in this Lab utilizes a unique technology that allows fruit and vegetables to be processed in such a way that all the valuable bio active compounds are retained. Only the water is, in some products, removed. The concentrate that is produced can be used for products like pearls, croutons, and bars.
The products are scientifically tested to identify which mixture works best for each person. The efficiency of each product is verified, as people react differently to the same food.
Since vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are largely retained, MiFood creates smart mixes to help consumers eat the optimal 500 grams of fruit and vegetables every day. These mixes can be enjoyed as a supplement to normal meals.
